Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)

1. When is Galatasaray Euroforum 2012?
Galatasaray Euroforum will take place between 2nd and 7th of May, 2012.

2. Where will the conference be held?
The conference will take place in Galatasaray University’s Campus, by the Bosphorus, in Ortaköy, Istanbul.

3. When is the applications deadline?
The applications will continue until two weeks before the conference, however we strongly advise you to apply as early as possible in order to be assigned your preferred position.

4. How much is the delegate fee?
The delegate fee depends on the period of registration. During early registration period, until February 29th, the registration fee is 180€ per delegate. During the regular registration period, between February 29th and April 18th, the fee is 200€ per delegate. Please note that conference fee, conference materials, accommodation fee for 5 nights in a three star hotel, breakfast, transportation between the hotel and the conference venue are all included in the delegate fee.

5. How can I pay the delegate fee?
You may pay the delegate fee through a wire transfer or mail order.

6. I have never participated in a MUN/MEU conference before. Can I still attend the conference?
Galatasaray Eufororum is suitable for all types of delegates, both beginners and veterans. You are welcome to participate in the conference even if you have never participated in MUN or MEU simulations in the past. Via mock sessions all participants will have a chance to acquire the debating rules and procedures of the conference. Also you may find information regarding the committees on the website, and on the handbooks that will be handed out.

7. How do I prepare for the conference?
Once you have applied and been allocated a country and committee, you will be able to find study guides concerning your agenda topics. With the guidance of the study guides you should research your country’s or political party’s position regarding the matter. Also you may be in contact with the committee chairmen regarding questions you might have.

8. What is the dress code for the conference?
Male delegates should present themselves in lounge suits, shirts and ties. Female delegates should wear smart feminine equivalent.
